Things to Do, See and Enjoy in Buenos Aires
The language school will have its own weekly timetable of events and planned activities for you to take part in. If you want to sight see off your own bat, then we have a few tips for you to do and visit in Buenos Aires.
A taste of Argentina: Porteños are famous for their hefty mix of meat and cheese on menus, but while in Buenos Aires don´t miss out on the sweeter range of delights especially Dulce de Leche and Meidalunas.
Take a trip to the port, Puerto Madero: This is a vibrant part of the city. It is a place where many tourists go and see, spend time at the cafés and restaurants and generally enjoy the area. If the hustle and bustle of the port is too much to bear, there is a great park behind the port called Parque Mujeres. This is a great place to take a break and relax in peace and quiet.
Avenida de mayo, Avenida 9 de Julio, Avenida Corrientes: These are 3 of the main examples of sights to see. They are the main streets in Buenos Aires and are home to much of Buenos Aires´ history.
Historic Sites: In Buenos Aires there are a great number of intricately decorated buildings. Namely the Presidential Palace, Basilica del Santisimo Sacremento, Catedral Metropolitana, Recoleta, Palacio Barolo, Plaza de la República and Palacio de Aguas Corrientes.
Museums: There are many museums to visit during your language course in Buenos Aires. Some of the more famous ones to visit are: Museo Evita, Museo de Arte Latinamericano de Buenos Aires, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Planetario Galileo Galilei. All of the museums in the City are home to many different styles of art; each has its own unique focus.
Get your Tango on: There are many places dispersed all around Buenos Aires where you can enjoy an evening of dancing or learning to dance the Tango or simply enjoy watching a tango over a meal in one of the many dinner theatres in the city.
Take a trip to the different neighbourhoods: There are 48 different barrios (neighbourhoods) in the whole of Buenos Aires. The most popular are Palermo, San Telmo and Recoleta. Each ´barrio´ has its own flare for you to experience.
