Alternatively, there are 9 different bus routes that you can take to get to the school too. Things to Do, See and Enjoy in Madrid
Shopping: Gran Via, is the main street in the city, it leads from Plaza de España right to Retiro Park. Along this route you will find Fuencarral, the main shopping street in the city.
Sights to see: Plaza de Sol is a tourist hotspot. It has the famous Tree and Bear statue that is the symbol of Madrid as a province. It is a great meeting place with a hub of people gathered every evening. From Plaza de Sol, everything is within walking distance, to the San Miguel Market, Plaza de Mayor and the Palace.
Grab a coffee: There are many great restaurants in Madrid. From classic Spanish tapas bars, to more international chains serving standardised food. There is a lot of variety between them, and you can never get bored of choice. You will find lots of them close to the Language school, full of other students from the University that is close by.
The Palace: Towards the South of the City the Palace is situated near the River, the closest metro is Ópera.
Relax in the Park: Retiro Park is at the end of Gran Vía. It is a great City Park, with boating on the small lake and plenty of places to relax with friends for a siesta and picnic in your free time.
Travel around the city: With the metro, things are never that far away. Madrid also has a great bus service, and inner-city train system (Cercanias), alongside larger train stations reaching other cities and destinations across Spain, for example: Barcelona, Sevilla, Valencia, and many more. The main train stations are Atocha and Chamartin. They are the easiest way to travel on the weekends.
