Santiago is set between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. With a great Mediterranean climate it is definitely a good place to study during the European winter months. As more than 80% of Mountains covering Chiles landscape, there is more to see than the just the city.

Things to Do, See and Enjoy in Santiago de Chile
Our partner school in Santiago de Chile has a weekly timetable of events and planned activites for you to take part in. However, if you would prefer to see things with friends we have got a few tips of places for you to see and explore.
Cerro San Cristobal: Every city has an amazing park to its name. Set on the hillside, you get to see the wonderful views of the city´s skyscrapers and the peaks of the Andes Mountains. For all tourists, you should take the Funicular to Virgin Mary Statue – here is where the best panoramic views of the city can be seen.
Plaza de Armas: This great place at the heart of Santiago is the central hub for tourists with many attractions close to the main square. A great meeting point to find a restaurant or bar to sit and relax in.
Museums: There are many different museums across Santiago. They are all home to different artifacts and detail different parts of Chile´s history.
Go Skiing/Snowboarding: There are plenty of options for you to go skiing and snowboarding as you are so close to the Andes. During their winter this is a great weekend break for you to hit the slopes.
Dance the night away: There are many great Salsa and Tango clubs and bars in the Capital. This is a great way to immerse yourself in the Spanish culture. If you don´t want to go straight to a club, you can perfect your skills at many of the classes/workshops that are offered throughout the City.
Visit Mercado Central: This is a great place where you can spend a few hours walking through fruit and vegetable stalls mixed with around 30 fish restaurants. The building itself took 10 years to build due to things being shipped in from Europe. It is now a national Monument.
